1. Soften Aleppo soap. How to prepare Aleppo Soap for carving?2. Slice off the soap surface from all sides.
3. Mark the circle for first rose.
4. Make a circular cut and remove the soap around it.
5. Round off the edge.
6. Mark the soap into 5 sections.
7. Make a curved cut to form a petal and remove the soap.
8. Carve next four petals the same way.
9. Round off the center.
10. Carve the 5 petals of the second layer in the same way.
11. Round off the center.
12. Carve the third layer.
13. Mark the soap into 5 sections.
14. Carve a shallow trench.
15. Make a curved cut and remove the soap.
16. Carve remaining 4 petals in the same way.
17. Mark another circle for the next rose.
18. Make a circular cut on previously drawn circle and remove the soap.
19. Round off the edge.
20. Carve the four petals of the first layer.
21. Round off the center.
22. Carve the 5 petals of the second layer.
23. Round off the center.
24. Carve the third layer in similar way as in the first rose.
25. Slice off the blanks.
26. Cut the trench twice.
27. Cut the petal and remove soap under it.
28. Repeat two previous steps for another three outer petals.
29. Carve two other outer petals of second rose in a similar fashion as the first rose.
30. Smooth the blank on corner.
31. Carve the leaf shape.
32. Carve a midrib.
33. Carve marquise shapes on leaf sides.
34. Repeating steps 30-33, carve second leaf at opposite corner of soap.
35. Carve small leaf next to each previously carved leaf.
36. Carve a leaf on each empty corner.
37. Smooth the blanks.
38. Poke three dots.
39. Carve scallop line along the dots and remove the excess soap.
40. Carve the same pattern on remaining sides, as shown on photo.
41. Make wavy scalloped pattern under previously carved patterns and remove soap under them.
42. Make small holes.
43. Roses and lace patterns on Aleppo soaps are finished!
